Crown Heights will celebrate Lag B’Omer this year with two concurrent street fairs designed to accommodate the entire community.
Organized by the NCFJE (National Committee for Furtherance of Jewish Education), in partnership with United Lubavitcher Yeshiva and All My Children, the festivities are expanding to ensure that everyone – from older children to young toddlers – has a perfect space to celebrate. Both fairs are free and open to the entire Crown Heights community.
The first fair will be centered at the intersection of Crown St and Albany Ave, spreading in all directions for families and children of all ages. Running from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, this site features rides, inflatables, carnival games, and concessions. Alongside the larger attractions, the fair includes bounce houses, face painting, and balloons for younger children, maintaining the classic Lag B’Omer atmosphere the neighborhood enjoys every year.
A second fair, located on Lefferts Ave between Brooklyn and New York Avenues, will be exclusive to families with children up to seven years old. Open from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, this location offers a calmer, safer environment specifically tailored for those with small children. The Lefferts Ave site will include rides, petting zoo, mini ferris wheel, train rides, and smaller bounce houses. This setup allows parents of young children to avoid the larger crowds while still participating in the Lag B’omer festivities.
The dual-fair initiative is a collaboration between the NCFJE, United Lubavitcher Yeshiva, and All My Children. Organizers thank the students of Oholei Torah Mechina and Lubavitcher Yeshiva for staffing the events and helping everything run smoothly.
The fairs are made possible by generous members of the Crown Heights community, and corporate sponsors MASK (Mothers and Fathers Aligned Saving Kids) and IDCC (Interborough Developmental & Consultation Center). Their support allows both locations to remain free of charge, allowing every family to enjoy the Simcha of Lag B’omer.
