Dear Friend,
I’ll never forget the look on the doctor’s face when he came to tell us the terrible news. We were in utter shock when this sudden, indigestible reality hit us! My whole life changed in an instant!
My name is Or Paniri and I am a 15-year-old boy, One year ago, I started suffering from severe headaches and fainting. I went to the hospital for testing, and they discovered a cancerous brain tumor.
Since then, I have undergone a series of chemotherapy treatments and a complex 14-hour head surgery to remove the tumor, 4 hours of which were in excruciating pain, without anesthesia, because the doctors had to keep me awake to examine my brain’s reaction during the treatment!
Since the operation, I have been taking very strong medication that unfortunately has not been helping, and the tumor continues to grow.
As a result, I continue to pass out and then end up in the hospital again. Each time they give me a stronger drug than the previous one, until the tumor overcomes it and I collapse again.
A few days ago, the doctors informed us that there is no more chance of success with the chemotherapy treatments in Israel since they are not targeted treatments, and therefore the tumor may spread and send metastases to more critical places in the brain. That could, G-d forbid, make the situation irreversible, so they sent us to the radiation center in Vienna for several months for me to receive targeted treatments for the tumor until it G-d willing disappears completely, saving my life.
As of now, this is my only chance to live!
The problem is that my parents have no money – none for treatments, travel or for the extended stay in Vienna plus all other surrounding expenses.
What we went through this year caused them a financial collapse and put them into huge debts. And what makes it even worse is that my parents cannot work and provide for our family because they are always with me during treatments and hospitals visits.
We have no idea how we will pay for the high cost of travel and treatments, which is what we need to do to save my life!
I’m begging you! I’m only 15 years old and I want to live! I don’t want to die!
I’ve suffered so much already, and I believe that I will be able to overcome the disease!
I thank you in advance for any support and wish you and your loved ones health, wealth and happiness.
Amen.
With much gratitude,
Or
