Baruch Dayan HaEmet Mrs Miriam Althaus was an exceptional woman and an outstanding dugma Chaya in all she did for the community over her lifetime. She was a fantastic Mashpia for the N’shei Presidents.
May her beautiful neshama have a speedy Aliyah and May she be seated amongst our foremothers in Gan Eden.

Mrs Althaus was a true example of an Eishes Chayil. Miriam was a dignified women of elegance and Chein giving of herself tirelessly to chinuch and teaching countless brides the laws of Taharas Hamishpacha. Melbourne was blessed to have Miriam in our community. Wishing the family long life and comfort during this time

What a massive loss to Jewish world

It is impossible to put into words the impact that this woman had on the Jewish community. In Melbourne specifically her passing will be painfully felt, but knowing how many bochurim , seminary girls and kollel couples from around the world she taught and warmly welcomed into her home this loss is much wider than we can imagine. She also taught Kallahs for whom her classes were their only “formal” Jewish education as well as the hundreds of frum Kallahs she taught. Mrs Miriam Althaus was a true צדקת
She welcomed us to her house when we arrived to Melbourne and since than always when we happened to to meet, she was happy to see us and showed a genuine interest in our life
