Mrs. Liba Breina Schtroks, Chabad Shlucha in Cologne, Germany, passed away on Monday night, the eve of 9 Shevat 5786.
She was 57 and suffered from a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Schtroks was born in Moscow to her parents Rabbi Aryeh Leib Pinchas and Mrs. Alteh Miriam Chatzarnov, who themselves passed away recently.

For 30 years, they became a central address for Jewish life, education, and care, extending warmth and guidance to Jewish individuals and families alike.
“She was a true tzadika, a righteous woman with great love for every fellow human being,” Chabad Germany wrote in a statement. “She passed away at the age of 57, after a long and serious illness, which she endured with courage and from which she never lost her faith.”
She is survived by her husband and their 11 children: Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schtroks – Tzfas, Israel; Rabbi Schneur Zalman Schtroks – Kiryat Malachi, Israel; Mrs. Chana Teichtel – Moscow, Russia; Bluma Schtroks, Sholom Dovber Schtroks, Chaya Devorah Leah Schtroks, Shterna Sara Schtroks, Shmuel Schtroks, Nachum Gavriel Schtroks, Avrohom Yeshaya Schtroks, and Ovadia Schtroks.
She is also survived by her siblings R’ Nachum Chatzarnov of Jerusalem, Mrs. Chaya Devorah Chein of New York, Mrs. Chana Itta Friedman of Nof Ayalon, and Mrs. Dina Chatzarnov of Jerusalem.
The levaya will take place in Israel on Wednesday, 10 Shevat, departing from Shamgar to Har Hamenuchos in Jerusalem at 11:00 AM.
Shiva will be observed in Kfar Chabad at the home of Mrs. Tzipora Gerbertchik, Rechov Likutei Sichos 21. Times for nichum aveilim will be published.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
BDE. I met her some years ago at Kinus Hashluchos. I had a cousin in Cologne with whom we had lost touch, and I asked if she knew him. She didn’t, but she offered to help us locate him, if she could be of help in any way. How kind she was! (The cousin has since passed away.) May her memory be for a bracha. May the family be comforted — Moshiach Now!

So sad! Rebbetzin Shtroks was the lovliest, kindest, and bravest person around. Always very warm and welcoming, with a bright smile. May her wonderful family be comforted among the morners of Zion. And, may her memory for ever be a blessing.
