An exciting mother-daughter concert, hosted by MASK in collaboration with Bais Rivkah’s BRanches, helped mothers and daughters connect and enjoy each other.
It was a night to remember.
It was the perfect way to herald Purim.
It was a community mother-daughter bonding event.
It was the Dobby Baum Unity Concert.
The evening was hosted by Sara Blau of Bais Rivkah’s BRanches, who introduced Bais Rivkah student Chavale Bronstein. Chavale’s sweet voice set the tone for the evening.
Singer Dobby Baum took over the stage, singing familiar favorites and getting the crowd going. She was joined on stage by singer Esther Freeman and together they sang a surprise duet of “A Yid.” Audience members had the opportunity to sing along “Anim Zemiros” on the microphone. The crowd waved their flashlights to the slow songs and rose and danced the night away.
In the middle of the concert, the power of youth was harnassed as the hall paused to focus on Torah, tefilla and tzedakah. Six students from Bais Rivkah led the room in pesukim, tzedakah pushkas were passed around, and Chana Levinson, a young shlucha from Ukraine, led the room in the Rebbe’s kapital.
Mrs. Ruchama Clapman, the founder of MASK, shared the resources that MASK provides for the community. The concert celebrated the 25th anniversary of MASK, which has serviced over 114,000 families. MASK offers a confidential counseling center, support groups for parents, and prevention and education programs in the community and in schools. MASK presented each attendee with a notebook and a box of school supplies.
The evening continued with music and singing. Several backup singers sang duets with Dobby and many enthusiastic daughters came on stage to dance to the spirited singing. On the way out, attendees stopped to purchase SIE’s Healthy in Mind, Body and Spirit.
Thank you to MASK, Interborough Developmental Center and BRanches for sponsoring this memorable evening for the community.
