There is more to this company than meets the eye…
Leasing Depot has established itself and made its mark leasing cars with quality customer service and pricing, but their latest addition is what makes the company even more unique.
“Customer service and custom fitting the customer into the car they need isn’t the end of the story – it’s the beginning,” explains Mutty Fogelman, owner of the Brooklyn-based company on 337 Albany Avenue.
“The business I am in affords me the opportunity to meet all kinds of people, from all types of backgrounds, many of which are unaffiliated Jews,” he told COLlive.com. “As a chossid of the Rebbe, I take the opportunity to help Jews identify with their yiddishkeit.”
To bring that idea to fruition, Fogelman built a special room in the back of his car leasing company to allow customers and associates to pray and put on Tefillin in private.
“I started putting on Tefillin with quite a few customers and salespeople every week,” he says. ” I wanted them to know that the door is always open – even if it’s just for that.”
To top it off, he created a logo that hangs proudly on his store window that reads “Tefillin Hot Spot.”
Elan S., a resident of Queens who recently leased a Lexus 350, proudly smiled as he got into his new car.
“I am Sephardi and I know that I start my new lease with a brocha,” he said as he drove off. Fogelman had put on Tefillin with him earlier that day in the office.
Fogelman has used his connections with large dealerships to get better pricing for his customers and Leasing Depot has built a reputation with great customer service.
Leasing Depot license plates and decals can be seen on cars in NY, NJ, CT, MD, PA, MA, and even Florida – a number of them Shluchim. Fogelman grew up on Shlichus with his late father Rabbi Hershel Fogelman in Worcester, Massachusetts, being one of the first Shluchim.
“’I think it would be great if all Jewish businesses had a similar ‘Tefillin hot spot’ sign, and offered their clients and customers the chance to do another Mitzva and bring Moshiach now,” Fogelman says.
