The new Chabad Kollel Erev of Monsey recently celebrated the completion of its first year of learning.
The kollel has been bringing together over 30 working Lubavitcher men from around Monsey and Pomona on a regular basis to infuse their lives with Torah and Chassidus. They spend the hour learning together in-depth topics in both Halacha and Chassidus, accompanied by introductory Shiurim by renowned Magidei Shiurim.
Held twice a week at the Shul of Beis Menachem Mendel Lubavitch of Pomona, NY, it was initiated by Rabbi Dovid Weber, along with his father-in-law Rabbi Simcha Werner of NCFJE of Rockland County. It is Directed by Rabbi Levi Tiechtel.
As a celebration of the completion of the first year, the Kollel has published a booklet on the topics which have been learned throughout the year. The booklet contains a list of the sixteen Sugyos in Halacha and Chassidus which were learned by the participants of the Kollel throughout the past year since its inception, in Shevat 5781.
It serves as a recap of everything that was learned, with sources, for Kollel members, and is also a great learning resource for others as well.
The booklet was distributed in Shuls and Cheders throughout Monsey, and was widely appreciated. It was compiled by Rabbi Moshe Browd.
The Kollel has seen great success since its founding, beginning with 12 members, and now with over 30 active members. Many more have expressed interest in joining after Tishrei, Rabbi Tiechtel said.
The Kollel expresses great appreciation to Rabbi Weber and Rabbi Werner for their ongoing support, as well as Beis Menachem Mendel Lubavitch for hosting the Kollel.
