A large fragment from an intercepted missile struck a Chabad home in southern Lod on Friday evening, in what officials described as a remarkable miracle after no one was injured.
The home of Mendy and Shaindy Pizem sustained a direct hit of an intercepted missile.
Lod Mayor Yair Revivo visited the residence shortly after the incident, where a sizable piece of shrapnel had penetrated the home during an interception overhead.
According to the mayor, the members of the household were saved because they followed safety instructions exactly as directed. As soon as the alert sounded, the family immediately moved to the building’s stairwell, which was the most protected area available to them at that moment. Their quick response prevented what could have been a far more serious outcome.
Revivo noted that the incident serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of following the guidelines issued by the Home Front Command, which are designed to save lives during emergencies.
Addressing residents, the mayor urged the public to continue acting responsibly, carefully follow the safety instructions, and reach protected spaces as quickly as possible when alerts are issued.
“May we all hear good news,” he added.

Thank You Hashem for protecting them!
