Rabbi Yossi Srugo, founder of Miami Chosson Center and a Mohel in Florida, addressed a meeting at the Knesset in Jerusalem, emphasizing the importance of pre-marriage education.
Rabbi Srugo said such education is nothing less than “a must for every couple who gets married through the Rabbanut Harashit Lyisrael.”
His invitation to Israel’s parliament came after Susan Barth, a Lubavicher activist with the organization “B’yachad B’osher- Together in Happiness,” read about the opening of his program on COLlive.com.
“Susan is a long-time fighter for strengthening Shalom Bayit through pre-marriage counseling, and this time, she was fighting so the Knesset would pass a law for every chosson and kallah to go through pre-marriage education,” Rabbi Srugo said.
He said the meeting attended by Knesset members Yehuda Glick and Rachel Azariya reviewed the curriculum of the Miami Chosson Center, with the purpose of translating, adapting and teaching it in Israel.
“The speakers at the meeting all agreed that nowadays, with the rate of divorce climbing in Israel, we must give tools to young brides and grooms to create harmonious relationships,” he stated.
It was noted at the meeting how divorced families cost the Israeli government much more than married couples and that children who grow up with divorced parents are more prone to find themselves in bad friendships, substance abuse and even to committing crimes.
Also present at the meeting were Toronto Shlucha Goldie Plotkin who spoke about the need to educate young engaged couples in Shalom Bayis, and Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov of the Mayanot Institute.
The next session of the Miami Chosson Center for Lubavitcher Chassanim will be on Monday, 13th of Teves -Jan. 1st 2018) at 10 AM – through Friday 18th of Teves-Jan. 5th at Chabad of Golden Beach, with accommodations across the street at The Miami Smicha Program in Miami Beach, FL. Any mention of the Knesset conference has to include the contributions of Rabbi Dr. Laibl Wolf Dean, Spiritgrow- Josef Kryss Center. He played a major role in the “behind the scenes” of the planning and implementation of the Knesset event. On the program he is listed as the “Spiritual advisor: Chabad-Lubavitch – Rabbi Dr. Laibl Wolf LL.B M.Ed.Psych. Dean -Spiritgrow – The Josef Kryss Wholistic Centre, Australia”. He served as my 24/6 advisor – the voice of calm and experience and there is no doubt that the success of the Knesset event was due to the guiding hand that he… Read more »
I second the last comment, Rebbetzin Plotkin is AMAZING and due to the most incredible hashgaha pratis she was in Eretz Yisrael and able to provide the Torah perspective on marriage that I knew would resonate the best – she was the answer to the bracha from the Rebbe for the success of the Knesset conference by reminding the assemblage that marriage is kedusha and with her enthusiastic delivery she gave the conference the tone and perspective that brought nachat to the Rebbe – a major goal of the conference!!

I am impressed, i want to meet this Rabbi. Does he come to CH often?
I invited Rabbi Srugo to speak at the Knesset Conference promoting pre marriage education (that my non profit B’Yachad B’Osher co hosted with Knesset Member Yehudah Glick) on Nov 8 after reading about his program on this website. He and Rebbetzin Goldie Plotkin, who gave a keynote address on the Torah perspective of marriage, were inspirational and provided a Chabad presence and connection with the Rebbe that was of critical importance to me in such a seat of Israeli government. They helped promote the cause of shalom bayit in the halls where hopefully legislative initiatives for each couple to receive pre… Read more »
Rabbi Srugo is the epitome of a true chossid, indeed a rarity in today’s world. There are very few rabbis that I look up to, but Rabbi Srugo is truely a tzaddik and just through watching him live a sincere and honest life, I remember that this is what the Rebbe had in mind for his chassidim all along.
A must in every home and for every choson and kalah teacher to distribute the book:
GPS FOR A HAPPIER MARRIAGE by Rabbi Aron Laine.
It has literally saved my marriage!!!!!
This Rabbi is a tzaddik
A dugma Chaya for shluchim to emulate
Shliach lishmo, no pinot ,no for money
That’s a beautiful speech! It sounds like a really important and critical program that all our chossonim need to participate in.
Much continued hatzlacha.
Highly recommended
Rabbi Yossi Srugo as such personality and wisdom of life that will give

his very kind and open mind that make it very accessible to touch any subject that is necessary also in a future.
like Chosón and as a father, I would certainly make the decision to prepare myself and receive all those good ideas and tools for a new life of peace and harmony.
