R’ Meir Aaron Schreiber, a Lubavitch chossid in Crown Heights who worked as a lawyer and was a baal tzedakah, passed away on Wednesday, 4 Elul, 5779.
He was 69 and passed away after battling a brief illness.
R’ Meir Schreiber moved to Crown Heights in 1976, and was a lawyer by profession.
He was a known Baal Tzedaka for many years, handing out donations by the dozens, as people came from all over the world to meet with him to ask for his assistance.
He was active in many different organizations, and utilized his legal skills to help many local mosdos.
He assisted the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council with legal matters, and was active in community affairs. In 2010 he ran for Vaad Hakohol in Crown Heights, running as “the sole independent candidate who has a history of respect for both Rabbonim,” he wrote.
He also served as one of the founding board members of Camp Chayolei Hamelech, as well as assisted Machon Chana school and the Morristown Yeshiva with an alumni campaign.
He is survived by his children Elky Cole – Las Vegas, NV, Moshe Schreiber – Crown Heights, Yitzi Schreiber – Australia, Estee Majerczyk – Crown Heights, Mendy Schreiber – Silver Spring, MD and Zalmy Schreiber – Crown Heights.

Moshiach now
ad mosai
So deeply saddened by this untimely death of a special man . Meir you will be missed
He was a very nice man. I am so sorry to hear this.
Meir was an honest man, who wished the best for everyone. He was a tremendous ba’al tzedokah, who gave to anyone without judging.
May your wish for Moshiach be fullfied right away.
Meir always had a nice word for me whenever I saw him. I respect him so much. I can’t believe this, what a loss. He will be missed 🙁
Wow – sad news. המקום ינחם אתכם בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים.
“He was a known Baal Tzedaka for many years, handing out donations by the dozens”
dozens?? should say hundreds or thousands!!
I remember once going in to his house to pick up a check for my chabad house. There were literally 100’s of people waiting, and he gave everyone personally with a smile.
Such a great man always had a good word was such a big bal tzedaka
Sad, very upset, long time friend, it is 28 years since The Rebbe’s prophecy that Moshiach is now coming said on 7th of Elul 5751, we desperately need Moshiach now, and end all this suffering!

So sad too young to leave this world.
I remember the thousands who came to his house for tzedaka. Was such a kind person
This man gave and gave and gave.
100’s of people from all over would line up at his place for assistance. He helped each and every one, one at a time.
He should knock the doors upstairs and request the Geula Now
Enough of Golus.
Thru his hardships he always had a smile and full of bitochon in Hashem.
what an amazing man Bal Tzidakh he took to the next level
we could all learn from him.

BDE i didn’t know him personally but saw him on the street and he always smiled and extended his hand. Very friendly and warm person. Always had time to speak with people on the street. Mashiach Now.
Total shock, R’Meir was a true chosid and a baal tzdaka, hundreds of people would line up at his house every sunday and every one of them walked away with a check.
Hashem likes the good ones close to him… sad, he will be missed but not for long. Moshiach is on his way!
The Moshiach Campaign was one of Meir Aarons’ masterpieces—His family had a hidden Tzadik for a father. I met him when he first came off the subway for his first visit to Crown Heights. I will always miss him.
