Mayor Zohran Mamdani, joined by NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and and NYS Attorney General Tish James, visited 770 Eastern Parkway on Wednesday in the aftermath of a ramming attack on the building of Chabad Headquarters in Crown Heights.
The NYPD is investigating the incident which occurred at around 8:45 PM on Wednesday, as the Shul was packed with bochurim following a video screening event and many who were heading into the Shul for Farbrengens to mark Yud Shevat.
Mayor Mamdani wrote on X:
“I am at 770 Chabad World Headquarters in Crown Heights, where a man intentionally, and repeatedly, crashed his car into the building. I am relieved that no one was injured in this horrifying incident.
This is deeply alarming, especially given the deep meaning and history of the institution to so many in New York and around the world. Any threat to a Jewish institution or place of worship must be taken seriously. Antisemitism has no place in our city, and violence or intimidation against Jewish New Yorkers is unacceptable.
I stand in solidarity with the Crown Heights Jewish community, and I am grateful to our first responders for taking swift action. I will keep New Yorkers updated as we learn more about the incident.”

It’s alarming that the car was able to get this far. This is a warning call. The car could have been loaded chas vesholom. You need barricades and more police to prevent a future terrorist attack.
I don’t like his views on Israel but he’s been acting like I would expect a non-antisemitic mayor to act and I will give him the exact due credit for that, which is that I don’t believe he’s an antisemite.
At the same time he is moving to end all city contacts with Israeli companies and prevent city investments in Israeli bonds. Keep your eye on the ball.

I will also note that Mamdani and his staff made an effort to get the pronunciations right which as we all know is “woke” and what we really should be doing is deliberately mispronouncing foreign names to show our contempt.
What we needed was Harris and one of her patented word salads about how this is a building that is a very historic building.
No: it is all only TALK on Mr. Mayor’s part, at least so far.

He immediately took away security from Jewish places of worship. And this is exactly what everyone warned would happen. Thankfully this attack had no injuries.

This is not Judaism. Judaism teaches that G-d exiled the Jews throughout the world. Our job is serving G-d in those places, especially influencing the other Jews that live there, thus transforming those places into Eretz Yisroel.
Then, Hashem will send Moshiach to build the Beis Hamikdash, and *afterwards* Moshiach will gather all the Jews to Eretz Yisroel.
If we could do it at retirement, anyone can. Best decision we ever made! We went through NbN and got so much support and help. Very happy to live in the Holy Land, all we need is Moshiach!

Israel put up iron poll barriers preventing cars from ramming bus stops. Also at entrances to machne yehuda there are iron polls stopping cars from entering.
770 needs this. Also 770 needs security guards.
Obviously police are not guarding 770. They did not come very quickly as video shows.
