Manuscript Found of Kitzur Shulchan Aruch Author

A newly discovered manuscript from the Chiddushim Al HaShas of Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried, author of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, Keses HaSofer and many other works, was published in the new publication of Kollel Mayan Chai on Avenue N in Brooklyn, NY.

In his introduction to Pnei Shlomo, Rabbi Ganzfried laments the loss of various of his written manuscripts, decrying the fact that they would never be published.

The Ksav Yad was recently deciphered and edited by members of the kollel, and has been published in the kollel’s most recent Kovetz (issue 6). It was published alongside other Pirsum Rishon’s from his writings: a Teshuva and Droshoh.

The Kovetz also features a Nightly Chassidic Insight on the Ushpizin; a compilation from Talmidei HaBaal Shem Tov and various Chasidic Rebbes, for people in the community to learn and share at the Yom Tov table.

The publication also includes a Teshuva from R’ Aaron Strashela, (from the most prominent Talmidim of the Alter Rebbe) as well as one of his Maamarim translated into English, and a Dvar Torah from Rav Kook’s Shabbos table.

Various Pilpulim and historical articles (in English, Hebrew and Russian) were submitted by the Kollel Yungeleit on the Yomim Tovim. Several Rabbonim also contributed, such as Rav Moshe Weinberger, Rav Yussie Zakutinsky; Rav Ben Tzion Frankel, and Rav Reuven Boshnak.

This Kovetz is the sixth one published by Kollel Mayan Chai.

The Kollel was founded in honor of Ruchama Chaya Fruma Bas R’ Dov Pinchas A”H Bistritzky. It comprises a group of Lubavitcher Yungerleit, hosted by Rabbi Yoseph Vigler‘s Mayan Yisroel center in Flatbush. Ably headed by the Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Menachem Kahn, the Yungerleit focus on studying the Piskei Dinim of the Rebbeim and their students. Several of the Avreichim also give back to the community in the form of regular chavrusas and shiurim.
