Atara Cohen, a 9 year old girl from the Chabad community in Toronto, Canada, tragically passed away after an accident on Wednesday, 12 Tishrei, 5784.
Atara was the daughter of Shimon and Henya Cohen of Toronto.
She was was killed after being struck by a driver of a commercial vehicle in Vaughan, York Regional Police say.
Staff Sgt. Stephen Yan said police were called to the scene on Mullen Drive, near Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West, shortly before 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
She is survived by her parents, Shimon and Henya Cohen and siblings.
The levaya will take place today, Thursday at 3:00 pm at Chabad Gate, 3:30 pm at Pardes Chaim Cemetery, Chabad section.
Shiva will take place at 299 Mullen Drive, Unit 73, until Friday.

Grew up with the Cohens and I live 8 houses away from where the accident happened. an hour after I saw the York Regional Police with Yellow tape cornering off the area of my street did I get the news.
