Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, is participating in a live discussion about antisemitism, free speech and the X social media platform he owns, along with noted rabbis and Jewish figures on Thursday.
X, formerly Twitter, has been heavily criticized by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which has called on companies to boycott and stop advertising on the platform over the spread of antisemitism on the platform.
Musk estimated that the ADL’s attacks on his platform could potentially lead to a staggering $22 billion loss, effectively halving the company’s value. Musk said he intends to file a defamation lawsuit against the ADL in response.
Musk will be interviewed by conservative political and social commentator Ben Shapiro. In the past, Shapiro said the ADL was a “progressive interest group.”
Following the interview, Musk and Shapiro will join a panel discussion moderated by podcaster Rabbi Dr. Ari Lamm.
Distinguished panelists will be former Soviet dissident Natan Sharansky, former Israeli president Ruvi Rivlin, renowned lecturer Rabbi Manis Friedman, Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Rabbi Menachem Margolin of the European Jewish Association, and professor and attorney Alan Dershowitz.
This live event will take place on Thursday, September 28 at 12pm Eastern Time.
