A man was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon in Crown Heights after hurling hate-filled expletives at Jewish people on Albany Avenue in Crown Heights, police said.
Passersby reported the black man shouting angrily at them as they walked on Albany Avenue near Crown Street in Crown Heights.
Police were called to assist when the man, who was possibly intoxicated, continued to hurl expletives at Jewish people nearby.
Police told COLlive that the man was uncooperative with the police officers, and was taken to the hospital for physiological evaluation.
Witnesses said that based on the man’s tirade, they thought he was a member of the Black Hebrew Israelites, members of which led the deadly shooting at a Kosher grocery in Jersey City. “At this time we have no evidence or history to support this claim,” police said.

Hurling expletives is not a crime. It’s protected speech, which is how the Black Hebrews are able to do it all over. To be arrested he must have done something, or else his arrest was illegal.
And the Jersey City shooters were former members of that group. There is no evidence of current membership, let alone evidence to implicate the group.
He resisted arrest and was also harassing the officers
Not mentioned in the article is that he screamed at the police and Shomrim “I’ll murder you @#$% …”.
