Los Angeles Like at 770

After starting the day with davening, learning, and enjoying a fun-filled time in the park, students of Cheder Menachem of Los Angeles, California, participated in an outdoor rally, co-organized by Cheder Menachem and Kol Yaakov Yehudah, the junior congregation of Los Angeles.

The rally began with a grand entry by the “Lag B’Omer Marching Band,” courtesy of students of the Mesivta YOEC.

Then, Rabbi Mendel Duchman led the students in the 12 pesukim and singing, “We want Moshiach now!”

Rabbi Duchman, who himself is a son-in-law of rabbi J.J. Hecht a”h, the Master of Ceremonies by the Rebbe’s Lag B’Omer parades, described what the Lag B’Omer rallies were like in Crown Heights by the Rebbe.

The highlight was a juggling and fire show performed by students of both the Mesivta and Beis HaMidrash of Yeshiva Ohr Elchanan Chabad (YOEC), which had the children spellbound.

The rally ended with the singing of ‘Sheyibone’ and the raffling off of a set of seforim and a mountain bike.

Much thanks goes to Rabbi Duchman of Kol Yaakov Yehuda and the staff of Cheder Menachem for the entire day’s events. May the chayus and energy of the children bring about the coming of Moshiach where we’ll take part in the next Lag B’Omer parade – on Sunday – with the Rebbe leading us all!
