The annual Summer Raffle for a trip for four to Eretz Yisrael is underway in support of Keren Meir, a fund set up to continue the work of Rabbi Meir Roness A”H, who dedicated himself to spreading Chassidus everywhere possible.
Rabbi Roness arranged Tanya classes and Chassidus shiurim in numerous yeshivas, schools, and shuls across the East coast. Following his sudden passing, Keren Meir was established to continue and strengthen this vital work of enabling as many as possible to experience the warmth and vitality of the wellsprings of Chassidus.
Throughout the years, many of the shiurim were clandestine and faced significant challenges. In various communities, where Chassidus was not as of yet appreciated, students ran the risk of expulsion etc.. Rabbi Roness worked tirelessly to overcome these obstacles and thereby giving them the best opportunity to further their study of Tanya and pursuit of Yiras Shamayim.
Boruch Hashem, today’s classes face much fewer challenges and there is even a tremendous thirst for Chassidus. Keren Meir endeavors to perpetuate the Rebbe’s call in providing an opportunity to as many people as possible to quench that thirst and precipitate the imminent revelation of Moshiach when, as the Rambam writes, “all will be occupied with knowing G-d”.
Reb Meir was a fixture at every Crown Heights event, giving the entire community the opportunity to participate and be a part of this mission of spreading Chassidus. Keren Meir likewise relies on the community to continue its work.
The annual Summer Raffle gives the community the opportunity to participate in Keren Meir’s vital work while having the chance to win a trip for four to the Eretz HaKodesh and a weekend stay at the Jerusalem Waldorf Astoria!
