Aliya has provided a Chabad House in Crown Heights for young adults that don’t fit the typical Yeshiva mold for the past 17 years.
Since Aliya’s induction, it has been geared towards young adults 18-25. Aliya has a beautiful center on East New York Avenue with a shul, lounge, gym, music studio
and now a brand new beautiful outdoor rooftop deck.
Over the past number of years, it has become increasingly obvious that Aliya must also reach into a very much in need younger demographic: 15-18 years-olds.
It is very tough telling a young boy looking for a place to belong that he is too young to join our Aliya events and programs. Now, thanks to a subsidy from the “Tifferes Foundation” Aliya is able to say “YES” to our younger community.
Yosef Yitzchok Halevy was recruited to kick off the new “Aliya junior devision” around Chanukah time and has seen tremendous success since. He has connected with and built up a strong following of young souls. He really gets them as he went through his own journey during his teenage years.
The new Aliya squad rents out the Ohlei Torah gym weekly for Monday nights for basketball which typically attracts 15-20 young men. After basketball, they go out to eat and farbreng together. Yosef also follows up with them and connects over dinner on a one on one basis during the week.
The Aliya squad also has full access to Aliya’s resources including use of the rooftop deck and bbq grill, job connections, therapists and music rooms. (As long as the hours don’t coincide with Aliya seniors).
the new younger Aliya has become the “In Thing” for our younger crowd and we anticipating exponential growth over the coming months including Shabbos meals and camping trips.
You can be part of the new Aliya crew by inviting them over for a Shabbos meal or farbrengen or by helping sponsor one of their ongoing events.
and what about girls? there needs to be something as an outlet too

Rabbi Feiglin you are an inspiration, too many people in our community don’t “get” our youth and judge them, thinking they are looking to rebel and cause trouble.
Nothing can be further from the truth.
They are extremely sensitive souls who need to be ACCEPTED and understood.
Rabbi Feiglin we need more people like you!
Let’s do in reach
Love it great great great
I have so many nephews sadly who could have used this program
