We don’t really understand this photo. It’s not like we have a doubt whether its fake or not: It is fake, there is no doubt about that. The question is why.
First, the “esrog” in the picture does not look like an esrog. It looks like a squash, and not an especially large one.
So we have a photo of a Jew holding a big green squash with his two hands, and this part of the picture is most probably real.
The puzzling question is where is he standing and why.
The background of this picture looks like a European city (Paris?), but the Jew and the squash are not really standing there, and we know this because the photoshoper added the shadow.
Your shadow – when you stand on the ground – can touch you in only on spot: the feet.
On the other hand, the shadow of this Jew in “touching” him exactly in the end of the picture – by his knees.
One more thing: the shadow is laid to the right, while the Jew face it is the other side that is shadowed.
Quick conclusion: He (most probably) is really holding a big vegetable but is not standing in Paris.

so a guy wants to make an ad for esrogim and uses some photoshoped pic… whats so bad about that?
its cool to have a jient esrog in your hands.dont you think its fake?
even in the picture he looks nervous someone will spot his! fakeness!
Whether or not this man had a fake esrog with a fake background or not, he still happens to be a fellow Jew.So just take a moment to give him the benefit of the doubt.
i think its a fake backround (a big cardboard backround) since look all the way to the left of the picture!
to hehehe
who said it was the guy in the photo who photoshopped it!
and who did you just say was SMALL MINDED?
The long ta(i)l(e) of the truth…
Believe me, this guy doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to figure out how to make a shadow!!! he took a pic of himself, cut it and pasted it onto the background!
why did they put a shadow in the first place?!? without the fake shadow the picture would actualy look real! for the reasons mentioned in comment 6,5,3,1
the man seems to be standing in the shade, not in direct sunlight, so he should not be casting a shadow.
BS”D
Your proof from the Photoshop Police, nana10 is not good because you can’t see the man’s feet. So how do you know the shadow doesn’t generate from his feet?
#1 ‘good spotting’ is much better.
Now look closer, though. The poles (Parking meters?) on the right side, mid ground, (Also left mid ground) have hardly any shadow at all while the main figure has strong shadow (Strong shadow necessitates strong brights.)
You can rely on me: essence-graphics.com.
While the other points may be true, I beg to differ about it not looking like an Esrog. It in fact does look like a Yemenite Esrog.
the shadows from the building is facing right and his shadow is behind him!
Picture is a fake from a mile away… PR move by the guy who sells esrogim in paris (matisuf) big deal
have a look at the direction of his shadow and the shadow of the building behind him. see it? the shadows are pointing to completely different directions! also, the man is completely bathed in shade, if so how can he have full body shadow????
