A central farbrengen marking the 200th yartzeit of the Alter Rebbe has taken place in the Montreal Torah Center in Montreal, Canada, on Motzoei Shabbos with many in attendance.
Emcee was Rabbi Yaacov Ringo, rav of the Anshei Lubavitch shul who explained the importance of the day to the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and to chassidus and world Jewry as a whole.
Among the speakers were Montreal’s Chief Rabbi Yonasan Binyomin Weiss, Rabbi Moshe Stern of Tzeirei Dan Vadaas shul, Dayan Rabbi Berel Bell and Shliach Rabbi Zalman Kaplan.
The guest speaker was Rabbi Levi Garelik, spiritual leader of the European Synagogue located in the European Union quarter in Brussels, Belgium.
