‘I love all things beautiful!’ says Kim Kushner, culinary educator and author of the best-selling cookbook I Heart Kosher, The New Kosher, The Modern Menu and now her brand new cookbook The Modern Table.

Recently, Kushner launched the new cookbook at an event hosted by Shifra and Shlomie Klein of Fleishigs Magazine. Sponsored by AJ Madison and Monogram, Kim gave a beautiful presentation in the gorgeous AJ Madison showroom preparing Honey Dew with sea salt and lime- poppy seed drizzle followed by Tuna Crudo with radish, citrus zest and shallot.
‘It’s the simple ingredients that create the most beautiful dishes,’ she says. ‘Use fresh, high quality foods and keep it simple. We all live busy lives, no one wants to spend all day in the kitchen.’ As Kim effortlessly prepares each dish she tells us ‘It’s all about biting into a food and tasting all the elements and ingredients. It shouldn’t be a mystery what’s inside.’
A cast of Jewish social media influencers attended the launch where they were able to sample different dishes from The Modern Table as well as get a fully personalized tour of the AJ Madison showroom showcasing their top-of-the-line appliances from companies such as Monogram, Decor, Thermidor, Viking and Gaggenau just to name a few.
‘Kim was my very first real exposure to gourmet Jewish cooking,’ says Michali Weinstein, an event planner and graphic designer. ‘Kim changed the entire landscape of Jewish cooking. She is, to me, the founder of gourmet cooking for the Jewish woman.’
“I appreciate how unique and creative Kim is as a person as well as in how she cooks,” adds Victoria Zirkiev, President of Chazaq Women’s Division and CEO of Hoshen Productions. “With her Moroccan background, the flavors in all her food are really impressive.”
Elisheva Pearlman of The Anelis Group Marketing Agency has known Kim for a long time. “Kim is really unique. She brings a fresh, organic and authentic energy to whatever she puts out. It comes very naturally to her.”
