A new siddur for children is quickly becoming a must-have item in Chabad Houses, Hebrew schools and youth programs.
The “Siddur Prayer Book” has 28 pages of full color illustrations by Rivka Moskovitz, helping children understand and experience the words they pray each morning.
The traditional text of Tehillas Hashem according to Nusach Ari is printed in clear Hebrew letters, under which there is a translation in English and transliteration as well.
“We deal with Shluchim year-round and multiple Shluchim and Shluchos expressed their wish for such a siddur,” says Chaya Gansburg of ShluchimServices.com, a website which offers promotional items, and who headed the siddur project.
“There are transliterated siddurim for Hebrew schools available, but this is the first all color – with illustrations and hardcover binding,” she said. “The tefillos were chosen to fit from the youngest kids all the way to the oldest.”
Chaya Gansburg, who grew up on Shlichus in Coconut Creek, Florida, credits and thanks many Shluchim for pushing the project and for their advice on the siddur. Among them Rabbi Mendel and Dassie Prus of Doylestown, PA and Rabbi Moishe and Layah Kievman of Highland Lakes, FL.
The siddur has been published this week and hundreds of copies were already ordered.
“This siddur will be much appreciated by lots of shluchim,” said Mrs. Beila Goodman, Program Director of Chabad of the Beaches in Long Beach, NY.
Rabbi Ari Laine, spiritual leader of Congregation Beth El in Panama City, has written in that he “can’t wait until the Spanish edition comes out.”
