Kesser Torah College in Sydney, Australia has taken a bold new step in bringing its core values to life with the launch of its brand-new school anthem, Keys for Life.
Known for its unwavering commitment to being a values-driven school, Kesser Torah College holds fast to four guiding principles: Emunah (belief), Derech Eretz (refined conduct), Da’as (lifelong learning), and Arvus (moral responsibility). These are not simply themes for assemblies or words on posters – they are the foundation of the school’s identity and its vision for each one of its students.
The school set out to find a way for these values to be remembered, cherished, and carried by students wherever they go. The answer came through music.
Partnering with musicians and brothers Mizzi Israel and Ezry Israel, Kesser Torah College created Keys for Life – an anthem designed to capture the spirit of the school in a way that is memorable, uplifting, and deeply moving.
The anthem was officially launched this week at a series of live concerts for students across the College. From preschoolers to high schoolers, the message was clear and the enthusiasm palpable – the school’s values were being sung, celebrated, and remembered.
“KTC’s values aren’t just written on the walls – they’re lived every day in the classroom, the playground, what we teach and how we make decisions,” said Principal of Kesser Torah College, Rabbi Yaacov Chaiton. “Sometimes the most powerful lessons aren’t taught through direct instruction, but through creativity – a story, a gesture, or a song that stays with you forever.
This song is just another way of placing our values – Emunah, Derech Eretz, Da’as, and Arvus – on the very lips of our children, so they can carry them in their hearts for life.”
The College invites families and the wider community to listen, sing along, and allow these timeless values to brighten their own homes too.
