Preparations have already begun for the 55th N’shei Ubnos Chabad Convention, which will take place November 18-20, 2016, 17-19 Mar-Cheshvan 5777, in S. Antonio, Texas.
The 3-day convention, with the theme of “Personalizing Our Global Mission,” will be hosted by the Chabad Center of Jewish Life and Learning in S. Antonio and will offer inspiration alongside gourmet cuisine, relaxation and ambience, at the luxurious El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel.
The convention has become known as a highly-anticipated annual event where women of all ages and from around the world gather for the most stimulating speakers, relevant topics of discussion, exciting musical entertainment, camaraderie and friendship.
“A group of dedicated volunteers are busily working out the plans for a phenomenal weekend, for Jewish women of all backgrounds and affiliations, a true delight for mind, body and soul,” says Mrs. Rivie Feldman, who has been organizing the conventions for over 30 years.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe, who initiated these conventions in 1962, realized the need for these gatherings for Jewish women.
The Rebbe expressed his hope that the women who were inspired by the conventions bring home the inspiration to their respective families and communities. This ripple effect would then reverberate around the globe. It is remarkable that 55 years later, these conventions continue to fulfill the needs and interests of Jewish women today.
The Scholar in Residence at the convention will be renowned lecturer Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Jacobson.
A slew of known speakers will be presenting at this year’s convention, including Rabbi Chaim Block and Mrs. Rivkie Block, Shluchim in S. Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Chanie Krasnianski, Co-director of the Chabad of the Upper East Side in NY, Mrs. Chavie Bruk, co-director of Chabad Lubavitch of Montana, Frumma Rosenberg-Gottlieb, educator and spiritual mentor and author of the forthcoming book “Awesome Aging,” Rabbi Yossi Marrus, Shliach in S. Antonio, Texas, and Esther Hadassa Samuels, a Life Coach specializing in Chinese and Natural Medicine.
Highlights of the convention include fascinating workshops on topics ranging from Chassidus and Kabballah, education and child rearing, mysticism and Mikvah to women’s health and personal relationships; personal stories of inspiration; a joyous Chassidic Farbrengen; a River Taxi and city tour, a gala Melave Malka; a Grand Sunday Banquet at noon; and joyous music and dance.
“This convention will have something for everyone,” says Feldman. “It is truly the call of the hour.”
