On Shabbos morning Rabbi Lew inspired the attendees and the regular congregants with a powerful sermon explaining Moshe’s question of ‘What is G-d’s name,’ moving the assembled.
He recalled the Rebbe crying when he discussed the suffering of B’nei Yisrael in Mitzrayim and their redemption exactly on this Shabbos some 30 years ago.
Rabbi Lew led a lively Farbrengen all Shabbos afternoon, sharing personal stories, incredible vignettes, and anecdotes.
Over 100 men, women and children (who had their own special program) spent Shabbos together and enjoyed the uplifting Shabbos with all the trimmings, prepared by the Lubavitch House expert culinary team led by R’ Anshel and Yetta Introlegator.
On Motza’ei Shabbos a community wide Melava Malka was held in the Adath Israel Synagogue sponsored by the Lubavitch Cheder.
The meal was dedicated by the Amrami Family in loving memory of R’ Reuven Amrami OBM, and his brother and sister in law Kurosh and Soheila prepared a lavish meal replete with Persian delicacies.
Rabbi Gershon Grossbaum, a close friend, neighbor and chavrusa of Reb Reuven reminisced and shared some of the special qualities of the unique chassid.
Cheder Director Rabbi Shlomo Bendet discussed the significance of the day. The Mara De’asra Rabbi Asher Zeilingold recounted the events of the Rebbe’s farbrengens on the occasion of the 150th yartzeit 50 years ago.
Head Shliach and Director of Upper Midwest Merkos Rabbi Moshe Feller spoke about the connection of the Alter Rebbe and the Baal Shem Tov.
In his keynote address, Rabbi Lew shared how the world emulates Chabad and how the Rebbe revolutionized the teachings of the Alter Rebbe. Following the formal program, anash farbrenged through the night.
Rabbi Lew is the greatest!
I was there and had quite an experience! He gives the best speeches I’ve EVER heard! Oh, and if I named all the people I know in the pics, it would take a while so, namely, I saw, me, may father, brother, and mother!
He gave a beautiful farbrengen in New York for Yud Tes Kislev. What a nice picture of him standing next to the Dean of Online Smicha.
Rabbi Lew shares recollections of his time by the REbbe with the shluchim every yom tov and he is truly a wealth of wisdom and chassidishkeit. He is the nicest guy around and has often taken the time to help this young shliach. Yashar Koach!
