It was in 1941, as Jewish Europe was facing the furnaces of the holocaust, the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe founded an organization to perpetuate Jewish continuity and education in America, the Committee for Furtherance of Jewish Education.
His successor, our Rebbe, held the organization and its flagship program, The Released Time Program (Wednesday Hour) in the highest regard.
NCFJE was the first and only organization (excluding Merkos) to have our Rebbe sign its articles of incorporation as a Trustee.
Sunday, November 15th, the NCFJE celebrates 75 years of fulfilling the Rebbe’s shlichus with its Diamond Jubilee Awards Dinner at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers.
The gala event, chaired by renowned industrialist and philanthropist, billionaire Mr. Ira Rennert, will honor former Chief Rabbi of Great Britain, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, real estate mogul and philanthropist Mr. Joseph Popack, Director of Neuropathology at the NYU Lagone Medical Center, Dr. David Zagzag, Congress member Grace Meng and a special memorial to Rabbi Dr. Immanuel Schochet.
The gala will also feature a very special siyum Sefer Torah honoring Rebbetzin Chave Hecht, The Rebbetzin has been at the helm of Camp Emunah for more than 60 years, and has the distinction of being the longest-serving shlucha in the Rebbe’s army.
Wow!
The Rebbe signing on the incorporation papers!
Hatzlacha in all you do.
May your event be successful with revealed good!
I have the highest regard for Rabbi Yakov Yehudah Hecht, as a 10 year camper in Emunah in the 70’s
Much success and brocho!!
Awesome! Def coming
