New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has condemned the anti-Semitic writing on the Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights on Thursday.
A black teenage girl was seen writing “Hitler is coming” on the museum’s large mural for good resolutions, as COLlive.com was the first to report.
The mural is promoting a Charidy fundraising campaign for the Tzivos Hashem youth movement, which will take place on Tuesday.
“I am disgusted by the anti-Semitic message scrawled in front of the Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights, Brooklyn,” Cuomo said in a statement to the press.
“We have zero tolerance for anti-Semitism, discrimination or hate of any kind in New York, and no person should ever feel threatened because of their religious beliefs,” he stated.
“I have visited this great museum, built in honor of Ari Halberstam who was tragically killed in an anti-Semitic terror attack on the Brooklyn Bridge, after it received threats in the past. It’s all more distressing for this institution built to bring together children of all faiths and backgrounds to foster tolerance to be targeted,” he said.
Halberstam’s mother, Devorah Halberstam, who co-founded the museum, said the front of building has been defaced twice in the recent months, and the pictures have been keyed and damaged.
“That is why it is urgent that we have a security guard stationed outside the plaza of the Museum to protect our most vulnerable, the children of our community. The location of our museum is in the belly of the beast, with it being one of the most high profile targets in the city of New York,” she said.
Cuomo said that “In the wake of a rise in anti-Semitic and other hate crimes in our nation, it is more important than ever that we stand united to condemn these despicable acts of violence and root out hate in all its forms.
“To ensure those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law, I am directing the State Police Hate Crimes Task Force to immediately provide the NYPD with any resources needed to assist in the investigation of this incident. Now and always, there is no place for hate in our state.”

There is so much igonorance.ppls repeat thigs without knowing.if this girl was by holocaust she will also died!!
don’t only focus on the note
Yidden have been verbally and physically assaulted
even more is to focus on the cause and how to rectify
THE REBBE’S ANSWER IS “MOMENT OF SILENCE” IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
Where is the crime? The museum invited people to post their comments on a note on the wall. This individual posted a mean, hateful message that we don’t like. It did not threaten violence. It did not deface the wall. I don’t like the statement. So what? What happened to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution? No crime was committed here!!
