Governor Andrew Cuomo has directed the State Police Hate Crimes Unit to investigate the Friday night attack against Bais Rivkah in Crown Heights.
Officials say the incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. Friday. They say someone smashed two ground-level windows at the Bais Rivkah Girls School, located on the corner of Lefferts Ave and Brooklyn Ave.
“On Friday night, an armed person vandalized the Bais Rivkah School in Crown Heights,” Governor Cuomo released in a statement.
“I am disgusted by this blatant act of anti-Semitism, and it was made worse by the fact that it was directed at a school where our youngest New Yorkers go to learn and where parents expect their children to be safe,” the Governer said.
“I am directing the State Police Hate Crime Task Force to assist local law enforcement in investigating this crime. We will find the responsible party and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
“New York will never tolerate discrimination and we will continue to stamp out hate whenever and wherever it rears its ugly head.”
We Want Moshiach Now!
they tolerate discrimination every day and encourage
just look at how they tolerate the disgusting way their police are treated
As people who live here know. Maybe there are some who mean well but certainly not all or even the majority.
These incidents of antisemitic violence are spiraling out of control.
How many more until the tsunami of hatred and antisemitism takes its ultimate toll?
Yesterday was the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht!
Anyone home?
Please STOP making everything about anti semitism. This was clearly a deranged person who also assaulted someone on the street for no reason (not a jew) the more we cry wolf the less ppl will listen when it really is and I DO believe that there is plenty just not this time and not every time. There is a real mental health crisis that no one wants to talk about!!! They need to stop housing them in our communities
The fact that they housed them in our community is the biggest travesty of all.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
