R’ Gershon Hyams, a longtime member of the Chabad community in London, England, passed away on Tuesday, 18 Nissan, 5778.
He was 67.
R’ Gershon was a beloved member and one of the longtime mispallelim at Kingsley Way Shul.
R’ Gershon merited many Yechidus meetings with the Rebbe, and in one Yechidus the Rebbe told him to “help build up the minyan of Kingsley Way.”
Together with his wife Chana he was known for an open house and tremendous hachnosas orchim, constantly hosting many guests.
He is survived by his wife, Chana and children, Yossi Hyams, New Jersey, Sholly Hyams, Yisroel Hyams, Zalmy Hyams, Simcha Hyams, all of London, Bluma Vogel, London, Baila Rodal, Milan, Italy, Rochel Brashevitzky, Nechama Spielman, Shaina Kahan, all of Crown Heights.
He is also survived by his brother Chaim Hyams of London.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12 noon from his home, 8 Woodlands NW11 to Caterhatch Lane, Cheshunt, EN1 3NS.

I remember Reb Gershon from Montreal in the 60’s
He was very refined, and was always sensitive to other people’s needs.
Reb Gershon was sensitive and a genuine lev tov at a young age and was a great help when I visited London later that year.

It’s so hard to think of Reb Gershon in the past tense. He always made me and everyone else smile. A true Shliachnof the Rebbe in every sense. Kingsley Way just won’t be the same without him. BDE

Our families go back decades, through our Parents R’ Aron Dov & Hennie zl Sufrin, their Parents zl and followed through ourselves. We have such fond memories of the early days of Lubavitch in the UK, which will always stay with us. Our hearts go out to Chana and all their children KAH, simchos nachas and good tidings for all.

Our thoughts and feelings go out to the Hyams family. What a loss to his family and klal Yisroel. As one who knew him and his family in the very early days of Lubavitch in London when our families were so close together the pain is even greater.
Ad Mosai do klal Yisroel need to sit in golus waiting for the geulah?
We want and need Moshiach immediately and be able to celebrate the last days of Pesach in the Beis Hamikdosh
