Chabad at Monterra located in Cooper City, Florida, led by Shluchim Rabbi Adi and Malky Goodman, celebrated their first Hachnasas Sefer Torah in preparation for the new Jewish year and a welcomed addition to their community.
The Torah was donated by Phillip Tob and family in loving memory of Tsvi Hercshel ben Berel, of blessed memory.
The Torah was written in Kfar Chabad and completed by Rabbi Yossi Srugo at the Tob residence in Monterra. Throughout the week prior to the completion, many families had the opportunity to purchase a letter and forever be a part of the great celebration.
Established in 2013, Chabad at Monterra has been servicing the needs of the fast-growing Jewish community and the many young Jewish families that have moved to the area. For many members, this was the first time they have ever experienced a celebration of this kind and there really was no better way to bring in the new year.
