Every day Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights receives calls asking for help for a family or patient in Crown Heights dealing with critical illness. Many of these requests are handled by the volunteer board members, be it connecting them to other resources like Chai Lifeline or RCCS so they can increase their help, sending household cleaning help so they can be taken care of, offering financial assistance for the huge expense involved in dealing with illness, or just providing a comforting and listening ear.
This board of 10 members works round the clock to provide services to the community’s ill. But did you know that besides for the women who run the core organization, there are several hundred volunteers spread throughout Crown Heights doing bikur cholim in the community?
This sampling of the Bikur Cholim facebook page is just a tiny slice of the community’s involvement and incredible response to their neighbors in their hour of needs. Hundreds of meals prepared and delivered, dozens of rides to hospitals all throughout the tri state area, tens of thousands of dollars raised to help alleviate the cost of medical expenses, countless visits and friendly gestures to bring joy to a patient, all provided by anonymous members of the community. What an inspiration!
Bikur Cholim has always counted on the Crown Heights community for support. Thanks to the outpour of kindness and generosity, Bikur Cholim is where it is today- vibrant and active, able to help hundreds of families in their most difficult time.
This Sunday, February 23rd, the Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights invites all the wonderful women of Crown Heights to a brunch commemorating Bikur Cholim’s namesake, the Rebbetzin’s, 113th birthday and celebrating the unstoppable, inspirational, incredible work of all its amazing volunteers.
Come out for a short and sweet program to be inspired, entertained, and informed about more ways to get involved. Treat yourself to a fine array of gourmet, artisanal treats by our community’s very own talented chef’s, and prepare to be heart-warmed to be part of such an amazing cause and community.

There should be one flyer on every corner in crown heights!! Why am I seeing a production called “changed” that’s being held in shulamis high school?? Great that they’re advertising here, but leave some space for the rest of us
I’m so proud of my sister Ruthie. You really show your devotion and make a difference in the most significant ways. An aside that reflects on the organizers is that everything Bikur Cholim does is done and presented with such class… like this event and article.
I am constntly amazed at the chesed that bikur cholim ladies perform each day…with a smaile, a bracha, and they will be there for any family that needs help! We do NOT need to reach out to boro park, or williasburg..we have our very own dedicated team that is seemingly tireless, and devoted! yasher Koach to all involved!!
We should never need them HOWEVER they are very special.
Hashem knows the chesed they do.
All else is private

Beautiful example of technology being used for the good. No lashon hora, no judging, no hurting- the opposite. Just goodness and kindness and ahavas yisrael for all jews. I am very proud to be a crown heightser when i read things like this.
I’ve only recently been exposed to the work of these fabulous ladies and unbelievable chesed they do! I’m blown away!!! They think of everything and then go head and provide all! I am truly humbled and as a new comer to this community and sadly with so much negitivity in our faces and on websites , bikur cholim CH has reminded me what Lubavitch is all about and I’m proud to belong to this community!
Bikur cholim of ch is unreal! They are the pillars of our community! Show your support and come this sunday! See you there!
