Mrs. Esther Cohen, a beloved mother and grandmother from Crown Heights, passed away on Yom Tov, Sunday morning.
She was 57.
Esther’s home was open to all. Together with her husband Michael, who passed away 5 years ago, their house was full of life open to the French community on the foundations of ahavas Yisroel and their love for the Rebbe.
She is survived by her children, Simcha Cohen, Chaya Zaetz, Miriam Borrocos, Sara Bortunk, Yael Malachowski, Rivkah Cohen, Menachem and Moshe, and grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters, Chani Dray and Danielle Fruitet of Israel.
The levaya will take place on Tuesday, April 15th.

So incredibly sad. BDE.
I could attest to her open home.
This past succos I was there and her table was swarming with guests and she hosted everyone with such grace and dignity!
She was a true balees chesed and a real queen!
She will be sorely missed!
May she be a meylitz yoisher for us all and plead for the end of this long long golus!
May Hashem comfort the entire family and May they only know of revealed good news!
Hashem we trust in you! Bring MOSHIACH now!
Bde משיח now.
She was a special woman!
Feel like I just saw her in 770 late at night Yud Alef Nissan
This pain is unbearable. I remember Michoel and Esther and their open home. Michoel was such a true passionate chossid and Esther stood by him like a queen. She carried herself with such dignity and grace. They were the Rebbes shluchim with their full being.
May this incredible couple march to kisei hakavod and demand MOSHIACH like only they know how. May they be meilitz yosher for their incredible children and for klal yisroel. By tomorrow, may this levaya turn into a livuy (escort) to MOSHIACH with Michoel and Esther standing with us in techiyas Hameisim.
I am a personal friend of the family already over 40 years. I mean her husband Michal Cohen every Shabbos had minimum 30 guest and on yomtov You could not walk into his house there was no place to move. Everybody was a guest and together the beautiful family treated everybody like like they are the king and queen and then came Covid and Michal, the husband of Ester hashem took him and now he took Ester just unbelievable. The two best people could ever imagine and their both gone I guess hashem wants the good people next to him,… Read more »

Esther and her husband were remarkable individuals—brilliant, generous, and deeply devoted. They embraced a life mission: to be fully present with their many guests, always without condescension and with unwavering dedication. Their children inherit not only a legacy of pride but also a meaningful example to live up to.
Dearest simcha,
I’m thinking of you in this unimaginably painful time. May Hashem send you comfort, strength and revealed good.
Love,
A seminary friend- Mushky

Such good people! Their energy was based on ahavat yisrael and the rebbe . What a loss. Their family now needs the community’s help
BDE so sad. We need Moshiach NOW!
Hashem should have rachmunos
Such a wonderful family
Esther was the definition of a person that doesn’t have a mean bone . She was completely selfless and was always thinking about others.
A beautiful humble person, an example to everyone.
May Moshiach come now !!!!
So sad, such special Yidden
Why?!?!?
Why does this one family deserve to go through so much pain and loss????!!
I truly cannot begin to fathom the Aibershters Cheshbonos of why he chose to inflict so much Tza’ar on the Cohen family.
למה הקדוש הוא עושה להם את זה???כמה צער בן אדם אחד ומשפחה אחת יכולה לעבור?!?!?!
All the more so that I was gifted to have known the Michael and Ester and can say for sure that they dedicated their lives to helping and giving to others!!!
With a heavy and broken heart 💔💔💔
Y. S .
Such a special person and family 💔💔
Wishing the entire Cohen family not to know of anymore pain or sorrow.
Long life.
BDE
Mrs. Cohen’s late husband was so helpful with the French student Visa paperwork. Then we worked with Mrs. Cohen after her husband was niftar. Mrs. Cohen was so patient and helpful. This is also a huge loss for the students studying in France. The Cohens have a chelek in so many bochurim’s learning!
BDE this is so sad. Please Hashem bring Moshiach now!
