It felt like a dream. It couldn’t be really possible.
Just 16 years ago, we had just about 11,000 lines of Tanya by heart for the Rebbe’s Birthday.
Who would believe that this year on 11 Nissan, at a special rally at 770, we would be able to present a gift of 1,051,768 lines of Mishnayos and 1,451,374 Lines of Tanya by heart.
That’s a total of 2,503,142 Lines of Tanya and Mishnayos by heart.
The children who learned the most tanya and Mishnayos said pessukim.
Chaya Rosenfeld from Bmos Menachem of Moscow said the Possuk of Torah. She and 18 other friends learned the Hakdoma of Tanya and 12 prokim of Tanya baal peh.
Then each possuk was said by children who learned more and more.
Two Litzman girls from South Korea age 9 and 11 learned 38 and 40 prokim of Tanya, and their brother learned the entire Tanya over Eight Thousand Lines and 43 Meshochtos of Mishnayos by heart.
With all the huge numbers it was so special to see the thousands of children who all had learned something.
Just as during a crowd funding campaign, you have big donors, but to reach the goal you really need everyone to pitch in, this was a collective gift from 123 Schools and some 21,000 children all of whom share one father, and one wish – to give him tremendous nachas for his birthday.
We truly hope that this will be the final thing that will bring golus to an end, and we will be able to celebrate pesach with Moshiach in the Beis Hamikdosh Hashlishi, may it be now!
