A brand-new pizza shop called Pizza Crust opened its doors this week on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights, bringing a fresh twist to the neighborhood’s dining scene.
The shop is located at the former location of Ess & Bench, on the corner of Union Street. It’s the latest venture from Nadav Hadad, who also owns a popular pizza shop in New Haven, Connecticut.
On the menu are an array of classic and creative pizzas, from favorites like green olive, mushroom, tomato and onion, to unique options like spinach and eggplant. The shop will also serve specialty pizzas on sourdough crust, including Greek (with tomato, kalamata olives, feta cheese and za’atar), Margherita, Truffle, and Spicy Tuna (topped with kalamata olives, hard-boiled egg and a drizzle of olive oil).
For those looking for something beyond pizza, the menu will feature Falafel Pita (with hummus, Israeli salad, fried eggplant, pickles, falafel balls and tahini) and Sabich Pita (with hummus, Israeli salad, fried eggplant, pickles, hard-boiled egg and tahini).
The restaurant officially opened on Thursday, serving a limited menu. The expanded menu will be available in the near future.
The new eatery is under the kosher certification of CHK – Badatz Crown Heights.

The place renovated or made any bigger or is it the exact same size as ess’n bentch?
They offer individual slices or do you have to buy a full pie?
