The date Gimmel Tammuz impacts many people. To the card-carrying Shliach and Chossid, there are hosts of activities to accomplish, including writing to the Rebbe, and hopefully visiting the Ohel. To the admirer and supporter of Chabad, this is a time they will hear and experience at their local Chabad House all about the Rebbe. And to the world at large, there is usually coverage in the news all revolving around the Rebbe.
One point is certain: The Rebbe’s presence and spirit is felt and is reflected upon in a much more real way than at any other time of the year.
Facing twenty years since Gimmel Tammuz, 8 years ago, the hive of activity was heightened and expanded upon. Books were published, and there was a strong recognition of the Rebbe throughout the world, thanks to the efforts of many.
One of those efforts was in the form of a booklet, written and published in Hebrew by Rabbi Yisroel Shmotkin, Head Shliach of Wisconsin. Titled Od Avinu Chai, this booklet was geared to the chossid and layman alike, and it explains in clear words the idea of a Rebbe, and the meaning of connecting to a Rebbe, and expands upon our Rebbe in this vein.
This year, this booklet was released in English, with expanded material and beautiful pictures.
COLlive.com is proud to present this exclusive booklet, making it available to our readers.
