This Chanukah, Rabbis Rodkin and Meyers of Shaloh House in Boston, along with eight bochUrim and in-house bochur Yitzchak Blank ran an array of programs.
Door to door mivtzoyim, visiting businesses, nursing homes, campers from the summer camp and helping them and their families to light menorah.
On Sunday they held a Chanukah Wonderland event, attended by close to 200 children, which included a great variety of activities, olive oil press, dreidel house, sand art, make your own latkes, decorate your own doughnuts, magic show, and much more.
Hundreds lit menorahs and scores put on teffilin, among them many for their first time.
This year for the first time in Boston there was a parade with four stretch-Hummer Limos, filled with over 80 excited children and followed by about 25 cars with car menorahs on their roofs.
US Senator Scott Brown along with many dignitaries came to join the event and lit the shamash, followed by Rabbi Posner from Chabad of BU who lit the eight candles.
“The miracle of Chanuka in Boston this year was, I called one bochur to help with our shlichus, and eight bochurim showed up for eight nights,” said Rabbi Rodkin.
