Real-estate mogul Shalom Ber Drizin is pitching in to help newly-married Kollel students in Crown Heights for the Pesach holiday.
Each Kollel member will be receiving a $300 check for their Pesach expenses, COLlive was told.
A year or so after their wedding – before leaving on Shlichus or finding a job – many Lubavitch Kollel members find themselves in a tight financial situation as they receive modest stipends for their learning, even when combined with their wives’ salaries.
The monetary gift will be given out Sunday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 12 from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM at the offices of the Vaad Hakohol at 392 Kingston Avenue.
In charge of distributing the checks are Crown Heights residents Eli Slavin (a confidant of Drizin) and Noach Fox, gabbai of the Kollel shul.
The Kollel is headed by Rabbi Yosef Heller.
