Shluchim operating Chabad centers at universities and colleges in Paris gathered this past Motzoei Shabbos for their annual Melava Malka Kinus.
Over 30 of them were in attendance to strengthen each other’s holy work and discussed shared challenges in engaging young Jews in the current climate of France.
Organizing the event was Rabbi Mendy Azimov and Rabbi Levi Azimov, who filled the role of their esteemed father Rabbi Moule Azimov OBM as the heads of Beth Loubavitch and its operations.
Addressing them were the mikvah expert from Minnesota Rabbi Gershon Grossbaum and Rabbi Michoel DanowRabbi Michoel Danow – Chabad at Leeds University of Chabad at Leeds University in England.
Participants then reviewed the decisions (hachlatos) they have taken upon themselves in past years and how they were implemented. Among the new goals in mind was to bring 50 students to a Shabbaton in New York.
At one point, Shluchim discovered that they share a need to having more pairs of Tefillin available for students. Despite the late hour of 12:30 AM, one of the Shluchim began contacting friends to raise funds.
One of the people he contacted was M.Z. who responded that he would like to donate all of the 20 pairs of Tefillin needed for the activities. “I want to be the first and only donor,” he said, snatching the Mitzvah.
