So is the Rebbe against a drivers license or pro?
The Rebbe’s opinion seems to be against the idea that you “need” a license, but fine with one getting it if it’s actually needed. Today it’s probably more useful than 50/60 years ago…

I was 18, a girl and wanted to learn to drive. In those days not many girls were driving. My parents were against it. Other than one brother no one in the family had a license. My Bobbe told me I cannot learn to drive without getting a Brocha from The Rebbe, so I wrote requesting a Brocha. And Boruch Hashem I got The Brocha.
Bochurim in Montreal used to speak about how healthy and fit these older chasidim were and chalked it up to no license and walking every day. Of course, there was much more to it – spiritual greatness that led to physical energy.
