Avraham Taub, a Lubavitcher businessman who founded the publically traded gemstone mining exploration company Shefa Yamim, has fallen ill before Rosh Hashana 5780 and is currently ill.
Avi, as he is known, has long been a Chabad activist involved in restoring the holy gravesites of the Chabad Rebbes in the former Soviet Union countries and the Mitzvah Tanks in Israel.
He founded his company to search for rare and new branded gemstones in a new and singular source – the land of Israel, such as the natural Moissanite and the Carmel sapphire that until today have not yet traded in the world.
He said the vision for the company was inspired by the Rebbe who said there are wonderous treasures hidden in the north of the Holy Land. Taub recalled how in the early 1990s, the Rebbe promised that anyone who invests in Israel is actually depositing his money in the safest bank that exists in the world.
“Twenty years on, it has now been proven beyond any doubt that the Rebbe precisely predicted Israel’s excellent economic future,” Taub says.
The public is asked to pray for Avraham ben Leah.
