Since moving from California to New York to continue his yeshiva studies, Yehoshua Soudakoff, has shifted production to a new location in Crown Heights.
The founder of Jewish Deaf Multimedia has been recording his ASL video in front of a green screen at his studio in the Chabad.org offices at 770 Eastern Parkway.
As reported on COLlive.com, Soudakoff started Jewish Deaf Multimedia about 2 years ago in order to produce Jewish video content in ASL (American Sign Language.)
Today, he has produced more than 80 educational videos including teaching the weekly parsha in ASL and partnered with Jewish.TV to expand his reach.
Nowhere else is there such a large collection of deaf-friendly Jewish information available, he says and welcomes people to visit Chabad.org/ASL
One of his videos shows has to make Matzah balls:
what an inspiration. Rachel is fun to watch even without sound
shua you are an inspiration to all of us at chovevei torah
go shua
mendy ross
Go yehoshua
Deaf people actually prefer to be called deaf, instead of vague terms like “hearing impaired” or “hearing-challenged” etc. A deaf person is just that – a deaf person!

Hearing Disabled may be worse but #4 still has a point

A friend
i didn’t really like the title: “Deaf Producer”
maybe i really am paranoid, but just didn’t seem respectful.
couldn’t they have done “Hearing Disabled” or something… i don’t know.
But besides for that, impressive.
