the advantage of airing this out on a chabad sight is so that we can STRENGTHEN each other s resolve in doing things with more purity ,i must say that this is a learning experience for the future whatever the reason for the video being the way it is ,very positive !!! cute etc . it should be improved and thats what chasidim are there for to remind and uplift each other , but no need to bash since we are all one fighting for the same stuff, lets all remember we should” cut our nails”(hayom yom ) refine ourselves… Read more »

To 24 and 25:
I am a shliach, not living in Crown Heights, and I am very ashamed of this video.
You accuse the critics of the video of being judgemental but are you not being judgmental of them?
This is the first Pellin/Chabad video that has received criticism. All the others had women in them, and nobody complained. But this one crossed a line.

Let’s not let this turn into a Shliach vs non Shliach issue… there is a SIMPLE question to be asked: Has a (or 3) Chssidishe Rov – Moireh Horooh B’boiel – been consulted regarding these type of issues and has he given a green light to make and publicized things in this way in the name of the Rebbe. If the answer is YES then go do it B’hatzlocho Rabo Umuflogo! but if Rabbonim WEREN’T cunsulted, then this is CHILDISH discusion.

the Rebbe always said to consult CHASSIDISHE RABBONIM not askonim on these type of shaylos…

PLEASE STOP SITTING IN CROWN HEIGHTS AND GENERALIZING THAT ALL SHLUCHIM ARE MODERN. IT’S SIMPLY NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But you wouldn’t know that because what percentage of shluchim have you actually met/visited on their shlichus???

The Rebbe would love this ....

to # 3,6,7,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,17,18,19,20,21, How sad , you are clearly not Shluchim , so what qualifies any of you to think you are in a position to understand ,let alone comment on the “chabad message” , is beyond me. There is no violation of ANY halacha here. To the contrary its clear if you just THINK , for even one moment, and look , you will see that they are dancing seperately, that ALONE sends a strong message of tznius and adherence to jewish law. Shluchim are in the unique position of being on the frontlines of bringing the geulah closer… Read more »

Good intentions
October 2, 2009 10:32 am

I’m sure it was done with VERY good intentions as you see they are dancing deliberately separately, BUT they are wearing pants, there is no ‘mechitza’ etc. With all due respect (and I’m not a Rov, so I’m just relating my personal thoughts) ES PAST NISHT for chassidim and should be promptly removed. This should be used as a teachable moment, that even while attempting to make a “kosher” presentation, one needs to be EXTREMELY careful when it comes to ‘Tznius’, ‘kosher’ and crossing red lines. Hatzlocho Rabo Umuflogo to Chabad of Malibu, Mendy Pellin, All Chasidim and Shluchim the… Read more »

too cute
October 2, 2009 8:59 am

this clip is not portraying the chabad message in the way chabad should. getting a bit too cute for your own good.

what is wrong?
October 2, 2009 7:51 am

Women Dancing?
October 2, 2009 4:01 am

It reminds me of the toeavah and chilul Hashem of Birthright. Thank G-d Cunin banned Birthright. Ober far parnoseh altz iz muter.

DISGUSTING!!!!!!
October 2, 2009 3:20 am

How can one even mention Simchas TORAH together with such a scene (even if the girls’ faces are blurred)????

It’s a shame to associate this with Chabad!!

The Rebbe DEFINITELY does not approve this.

Did “chabad” of Malibu ask a Rov or Chassidishe mahipa to approve this???

Does this belong on “CHABADollive”????

song name?
October 2, 2009 1:31 am

whats the name of the first song?

disgusting

i dont ether like, nether any Frum Yid.

not impressed with the modern shluchim nowadays
October 2, 2009 12:04 am

This might be an esier way to get people to come to you, but thats not the right way to do it. You must first follow halacha and once you’re doing that then you can start bringing poeple closer to yidishket

Past nisht for for us or to represent chabad

oy vey
October 1, 2009 11:40 pm

7 is right.
I don’t know who Chabad of Malibu is but they should learn from the telethon how to integrate modernity but in a kosher fashion that would Make the Rebbe Proud.

uhhhhyeahno
October 1, 2009 11:38 pm

I am usually very liberal but I have to agree that this video is a little surprising. It is definitely cheeky/cute but the previous post got it right, would you feel comfortable asking the Rebbe to approve this? Keep up the creative work (and remember some of the best pieces come from the most restrictive parameters)

Another Notch
October 1, 2009 11:27 pm

Down.
Lekovod the numerical hangups of Lubavitch – 5770.
Hefkerus and prikas ol.
Just what we needed now.
Used to be if you wanted to walk the street with heilike machshovois you looked down.
Now even there you see the young ladies proving they have ten toes by painting them red and leaving them for display.
So here goes the hechsher for jeans and mixed dancing.
Clear the sidewalks for simchas beis hashoeiva.
Like we have never seen?
Ah, but lekovod 5-770.

so cute!
October 1, 2009 11:08 pm

LUV IT!

shluchim don't like it
October 1, 2009 10:49 pm

that would be a bigger story. as one shliach told me: “Would they send such a video for the Rebbe to see?”
Forget about the dancing, there is an issue of tznius. On the telethon for example, the women are asked to dress in the tradtional jewish manner….
