A new video explains the meaning of the Bas Mitzvah milestone that a Jewish girl reaches upon turning 12 years old, accepting all the rights and obligations of a Jewish adult.
Created by the Mitzvah Channel on YouTube and the Yahaduton organization, the clip explains what is special about the age of 12 and what does it mean to receive the Mitzvos.
The video, filmed in Hebrew and dubbed in English, was recently shown at the Bas Mitzvah celebration of Michal Gadilov, daughter of Rabbi Pinchas and Chana Gidelov, Chabad Shluchim in Vienna, Austria.
Behind the production of the video are Rabbi Shmuel Bistritzky, a Shliach in Savyon, Israel, the head of Yahaduton, Rabbi Yoel Baitch and Olam Umloo productions.
“Many hours of thought were invested in the creation of this and similar videos,” Rabbi Bistritzky said. “We worked hard so that every girl that searches for the meaning of a Bat Mitzvah will find the answer.”

Much better in the original
What a wonderful idea. Will surely inspire many. Mazal tov!
and beautiful video
may this help the bat mitzva celebration focus on the real meaning instead of emphasizing the decor, food and fun part in our community.
