Students of the Pre-1A grade at United Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Crown Heights paid a meaningful visit to the Rebbe’s room at 770 Eastern Parkway on Tuesday.
Before 27 Adar 5752, the Pre1a students of ULY would go to the Rebbe for dollars after celebrating their Siddur Party. In the years that followed 5754 – with a Tefilah on their lips to be zoche to see the Rebbe B’einei Bosor – the Pre1a students continued this wonderful tradition to visit the Rebbe upon reaching this milestone.
A special Yasher Koach goes to Rabbi Shmarya Katzen for spearheading this initiative.
The boys were accompanied by their Rebbis, Rabbi Shmarya Katzen, Rabbi Moshe Schwartz, and Rabbi Levi Hurwitz.
“May we be zoche to see the Rebbe with our own eyes,” the teachers and students both prayed with great intent.
Thanks to Rabbi Katzen for his tremendous contribution to the hinuh of our little sons . The trip to the Rebbe’s office with their first siddur will be in the boys hearts and souls for the whole life .

Rabbi Schwartz was my son’s pre-1a Rebbi a few years ago. My husband and I are still in awe of him and have tremendous respect for him. Rabbi Schwartz, you are a true dugma chaya and you infuse your classroom with chassidishkeit , varemkeit, and love for the Rebbe, which left a profound impression on my son. Chinuch is your life and your heart is fully in it. Thank you is not enough. You should be bentched and continue for many many more years.
