This week Rabbi Berel Greenfeld’s class in United Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Ocean Parkway celebrated thier first Chumash class. According to tradition, they started learning a few verses from Vaykira first, followed by the first Pasuk of the Torah.
Rabbi Greenfeld and Rabbi Sholom Baras addressed the children and spoke about the impact of their Torah learning on high.
After the 12 pesukim were recited every child was given his very own chumash which was followed by dancing. Then the kids were given nosh to teach them that Torah is something sweet. The chumash party is sure to make a lasting impact on the minds of these tinokos shel bais raban.
