A new program endorsed by Florida’s Chabad Rabbonim will give Chassanim the appropriate resources to enable them to meet the challenges of marriage in the contemporary world.
The Miami Chosson Center will provide every Chosson a review of halachos and hashkafa and a place where he will prepare himself, for an entire week, to assume his role as a husband, father and provider.
It’s program director is Rabbi Yossi Srugo, a mohel, sofer and a chosson teacher in Miami. He says the idea came “in response to the pressing needs of our young Chassanim.”
“Today’s challenges – the influence of the outside world through mass media and other means that are very invasive, the effects of negative internet exposure, and the high cost of living – all are creating a new set of problems,” he told COLlive.com.
“We are seeing an increasing number of young couples for whom the tradition preparation does not suffice and who need a different kind of help to set them on a path of sholom bayis,” Rabbi Srugo says.
The program will be held at Chabad of Golden Beach on Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach, with accommodations across the street and The Miami Semicha Program in Miami Beach.
Halacha classes will be taught by Rabbi Aharon Liberman of Synagogue Inverrary Chabad in Lauderhill; Rabbi Aryeh Citron, Posek, author and Chosson teacher; Rabbi Yisroel Frankforter, Director of Smicha Program, Miami Beach; and Rabbi Srugo.
Hashkafa classes with many rabbis, including Rabbi Yossi Marlow, Rov of Beis Menachem in North Miami Beach; Rabbi Citron, Rabbi Chay Amar of Chabad of Golden Beach, Rabbi Laivi Forta of Aventura Chabad and R. Mendel Rosenfeld of Lubavitch Aventura South.
Pre-marital education and counseling by Marriage Boot Camp, a program developed by Yehi Ohr, Jewish Community Services of South Florida and has been specifically tailored for the Miami Chosson Center. Its goal is to provide relationship skills and counseling for a successful marriage. All classes will be taught by male, frum professionals.
Financial Education: Budgeting and job coaching by “Marriage Boot Camp” and special guest- financial advisor Jaime Hadida. Participants will explore parnasa options and learn how to get started on the path to financial security.
“These young men will emerge from the program with clear guidelines of how to give their marriage the practical and spiritual foundation that will bring their new family a life of Shalom Bayis, which is the goal of a Chasidishe marriage,” says Rabbi Srugo.
1st Session: Monday, 3rd of Cheshvan (Oct. 23) at 10 AM – Friday 7th Cheshvan (Oct. 27). (Available accommodations for Shabbos). Cost: $1000 per person early registration (before Sukkos); $1200 thereafter. Price includes all meals and also accommodations from Monday to Friday. To register, call 305-318-1880 or email [email protected].

A huge thank you to Rabbi Srugo for the most incredible job at preparations for my wedding. From preparing a really organized timeline, to chatan classes with my husband (and kalla classes with his amazing wife Nechami) and meetings with the both of us, to finally the big day that went so beautifully, spirituallly and extremely smooth. Oh and even after the weddding, for being there to lead service for the first night of sheva brachot (that fell out on Shabbat) and for hosting another night for my family and I. Thank you so much for everything Rabbi!
I had the pleasure and opportunity to study with Rabbi Srugo in preparation for my wedding and highly recommend him as a teacher for such essential preparation which will bring true shalom bayit by learning the laws and practicing taharat hamishpacha. Thank you Rabbi Srugo!

Hope they open one for girls as well,
Girls need more guidance than boys in many areas of household keeping and relationship.
Rabbi Citron was my chosson teacher, and until this day I appreciate the way in which he taught me everything. Also, as a qualified more hora’a, his ability to answer all post-wedding sha’alos personally has been very helpful throughout the years.
but can one really be prepared for marriage? relationship with opposite gendered person, with who one has very little experience? isn’t marriage a lottery ticket?
Finally someone reliable cares about the future of our children, I will recommend it to my son!
it was time to start something good and professional for our children !!
thank you rabbi yosi srugo
A chosson teacher with common sense can save many couples from future problems !
הצלחה רבה בעבודתו בקודש !!!
Alguien sabe si también aceptarían novios que hablan español? Rabbi Srugo habla español.
Sounds great, so many problems can be avoided with preparation and guidance.
Curious to hear more about it!
Excellent project! The times in which we live demand something like this. It seems designed by professionals.
Hatzlocho!
I recommend Rabbi Yossi, he help me a lot of times as an advisor for young people.. and thanks to Hashem many of this youth got married and are very happy (seems to be) and B”H not one got divorce chas be shalom…
The best
This is an awesome project .
Ishar coach rabbi Yossi Srugo for organizing this program.
He gives the best chosson classes, very down to earth and also straight with halachos.
Best of luck.

This is what we need. Clarity in a confused world. Be well prepared in order to make your marriage an eternal union!
I learned with rabbi Yosi, the best choice, till today if I have any questions I can call him and he answer with love and patience!
Insightful and funny Rabbi!
He is very approachable and understands the times we live in; he will show you the way to live modern without cutting corners.
You’ll feel very comfortable to ask ANYTHING you need and want to know about marriage life, intimacy and general matters too.
Very recommended!!
Every community should have extended chosson classes. What sufficed years ago is not enough now.

The line of Rabonim are excellent – very impressed with this very well organized program.
Yasher Koach Yossi, and all those involved.

Is there a way to expand these courses to already marrieds and somehow out of towners? To #3 Which boot camp are you referring to?
I attribute part of the success in our marriage to the lessons taught by Rabbi Srugo.
Sometimes when I’m about to say or do something… I remember his wise and down to earth words and it makes a huge difference.
Rabbi yossis classes are awesome, I recommend them a lot !!!
This is a much needed project and rabbi Yossi Srugo has lots of experience in the field. I took chosson clases with him and know many people that also did more that 13 years ago.
I have learn Hadracha with Rabbi Yossi Srugo, 10 years ago, it’s such a good idea to combine both halacha and a great amount of common sense, he’s very charming and human, fully recommended, well done! Yossi Levy
I personally know rabbi srugo and aside for being a great person,he is the best out there when it comes to choson classes.
This is a genius idea!! I’d go there without a doubt even if it cost a little more than a regular teacher
I was supposed to learn Chosson classes with Rabbi Yossi as a Chosson, but for some reason it didn’t work out… and I regret it because after talking to some Chassanim who learned with him, They were given so much information, and they disscused so much hashkafa. I went to a famous Chosson teacher and all i got was Halacha. I think is about time that chassanim get “more than just Chosson Classes”
This is pashut amazing
I had Yossi has my chosson teacher, he is very patient and open minded, but anchored in Halacha and Chasiduss. Knowing his sensitivity i think is the best person to prepare the young chassanim of this generation.
Daniel Najman, a successful Lubavicher Amazon business owner from Miami, will be presenting a workshop at MCC about starting a full/part time business on Amazon.
Rabbi Yossi Srugo
That’s the idea of The MCC. The Chassanim can make a Kesher with Rabbis and therapist so they can ask questions and follow up after the Chasuna
Rabbi Yossi Srugo
I would also very much encourage these professionals to be available to these young men and their wives during (and even after) the “first year” for consultations and local referals. So many small problems grow bigger because the couple is ashamed that they have a situation and don’t reach out for help bc they don’t know who to turn to. I have often thought that just like there is a six-week check up after a newborn just to make 100% sure that everything is alright that there should be something similar for a choson & kallah – just make it… Read more »
I’m very happy to hear that exist people that are able to see the real need of our young kids, I would send my son there once he reaches the right age.
Wonderful program being offered separately for men and women
Developed by an incredible and dedicated frum therapist who gives her life for the good of the frum community and beyond!
Amazing opportunity to get your marriage started right!
Best of luck!!
This idea is so long needed, and fantastic. Looks like a great team of people working on this project! Lots of hatzlacha in this new endeavor!
What a great idea! This will fill a real need!
