Chinuch Workshop Introduces the Rebbe’s Educational Language

The Merkos Chinuch Office hosted a two-part workshop alongside the Kinus: one focused on practical classroom skills, the other introducing the Foundations of Chinuch: implementing the 12 Pesukim as the Rebbe’s framework for education.

The men’s Foundations of Chinuch training series launched to a full crowd last week, with many more joining via livestream. With the Kinus HaShluchim bringing Mechanchim from across the globe, the atmosphere was electric as principals, Shluchim, teachers, and mechanchim gathered to strengthen Chinuch through the Rebbe’s guidance.

Hosted by the Merkos Chinuch Office, under the leadership of Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, director of the Merkos Chinuch Office, and Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, General Chairman, the evening introduced a new training series. Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal, associate director of the Chinuch Office, served as MC and guided the evening’s program.

The evening began with Rabbi Shloime Ehrlich, a master educator known for his practical and relatable approach to teaching. He delivered a presentation on creating camaraderie and a sense of belonging in the classroom.

Drawing from real-life examples and years of experience, Rabbi Ehrlich shared strategies for making every student feel safe, seen, and comfortable, the foundation upon which meaningful learning can take place. His message gave educators tools they could implement immediately.

Following his session, participants were introduced to the first part of the seven-session Foundations of Chinuch Training Series, presented by Rabbi Hertzel Pewzner and Rabbi Zalmy Kudan. Their presentation focused on how the Rebbe framed education through the 12 Pesukim.

This first training focused on the Posuk of Torah and Veshinantam, exploring how the Rebbe viewed these words as the core foundation of Chabad Chinuch. They guided participants through the essence of the Rebbe’s Chinuch language as expressed in the Twelve Pesukim, explaining how these Pesukim are not just slogans or rally calls, but a full educational modality, a blueprint for how to shape a child’s mind, heart, and behavior.

The session was filled with examples and tools for bringing this approach into classrooms, homes, and daily interactions.
The message was clear:
The next generation will be raised with the Rebbe’s Chinuch approach front and center, shaping children who are confident, grounded, and inspired in their Yiddishkeit.
“The program explained the Rebbe’s הוראות to children in a practical way, bringing what the Rebbe said on various occasions into one clear picture,” said Rabbi Yoel Backman, who participated in the workshop.

As the seven-part series continues, momentum is building. The launch set the tone for a journey in Chinuch, practical, focused, and rooted in the Rebbe’s words.
