The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Dovid Lau, is known to be a good friend of Chabad and has time-and-again shown his unwavering commitment to the Rebbe’s causes, Shluchim and Anash.
During his recent trip to the West Coast, Rabbi Lau met with many community leaders, organization heads, philanthropists and educators. However, he placed precedence for Chabad and made it a top priority to hear first-hand from the Shluchim about their communities and concerns with Eretz Yisroel.
At this unique meeting Rabbi Lau invited Shluchim to reach out to his offices directly when they have an issue that needs to be resolved via the Rabbanut of Eretz Yisrael and pledged to make every effort to resolve issues as they arise.
Amongst the many Shluchim present at the meeting with Rabbi Lau were the head Shliach to the West Coast Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin, Chabad Rabbonim from California Rabbi Yosef Shusterman, Rabbi Mendel Lipskier and Rabbi Avraham Zajac.
The meeting was held at the Smicha Zal of Yeshivah Ohr Elchonon Chabad under the direction of Rabbi Dovid Schmukler and was arranged and coordinated by Rabbi Dovid Eliezrie of Yorba Linda, CA and Rabbi Simcha Backman of Glendale, CA.
