Over 5000 people of all the parts of the Jewish community celebrated Chanukah together at the 28th grand Menorah lighting of Chabad Lubavitch of Argentina.
Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Shlomo Amar, who is visiting the Argentine Jewish community, was honored with lighting the 1st candle, and shared an inspiring Chanukah message with the assembled crowd.
Many dignitaries, government officials, and leaders of the Jewish community were in attendance, including the Israeli Ambassador of Argentina Mrs. Dorit Shavit, Buenos Aires Cabinet Chief Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, philanthropist Mr. Eduardo Elsztain and Rabbi Chaim Lapidus.
Head Shliach of Argentina, Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, uplifted the crowd with a message of hope, strength and Jewish pride.
Music by Rabbi Daniel Zelione accompanied by the KEF orchestra had the crowd on their feet dancing and celebrating for hours.
The event was arranged by Rabbi Shike Birman, Mr. Shaul Hochberger, and Mr. Matias Diner of Chabad Lubavitch Argentina directed by Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt.
