As the International Chidon approaches, the community scrambles to reserve seats.
Behind every one of the 2,812 chayolim who qualified for Chidon, there’s a parent with infinite patience, a heart full of pride, and encouraging words of affirmation. It’s the parents who have taught their children the importance of learning, who have sat and reviewed the 613 mitzvos over and over again. And it’s the parents in the audience of the Chidon’s award ceremony whose smiles will make the whole journey worth it.
This Wednesday, over two-thousand hard-working children will arrive in Crown Heights for the Shabbaton of a lifetime, the reward for hours of learning and studying. Sunday’s event is the grand finale of the experience with a game show competition and award ceremony.
This year the event will be held in the magnificent Kings Theater, a short Uber ride from Crown Heights. Bus transportation to the event is also provided.
“We’re anticipating a sold-out audience,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, director of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem.
Mark your calendar! The Chidon game show and award ceremony will take place this Sunday, Chof Daled Adar (March 11) at at 10:00 a.m. The boys’ event will take place in the same location, at the same time, a week later, next Sunday, Beis Nissan (March 18).
May this limud bring us one step closer to the coming of Moshiach, the time when we will finally be able to keep all six-hundred-thirteen mitzvos.
